There was a famous author in a book my brother read that told of Mississippi river pirates who went up the Wisconsin river as far as bogus bluff to hide their loot. I squirrel hunted the bluff with an older cousin as a youth but never went in the cave.
Have not read his books, but we are related. My grandmother and his were sisters. Not sure what that makes us but I'm good friends with his brother John the fishing guide and real estate evaluator.
Great story! Back in the 1990's when I was new out here my cousin took me up the bluff to see it.

I have read that there are many caves in our area of wisconsin from Dan Bomcamps book Mysterious river.
